Giving Circles – A Powerful Vehicle for Philanthropy

What is a Giving Circle? A Giving Circle is a group of people that pool their donation dollars to make a bigger impact in their community.  Members nominate and vote on the charities that receive the pooled donations. Grapevine is one of the leading online networks of Giving Circles and the Northwestern Ohio Women’s Giving Circle is Toledo Women Together.

Toledo Women Together started in the summer of 2022 as Toledo Women for Good.  The recent rebranding was due to a stall in growth and a desire to increase the social, networking, and volunteer aspects of the organization. A brand-new newsletter and monthly coffee hours are two ways the group is trying to increase engagement with their membership and the community.  The first coffee hour in May was a great success and others are being scheduled.

Local charities that have benefited from Toledo Women Togethers membership donations include So All May Eat, Bethany House, Light the Way, and Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Services of Northwestern Ohio. The group is always looking for new members to increase their donor pool and provide introduction to other charitable causes in the area.  If interested in learning more about the mission of Toledo Women Together check out their website at https://tinyurl.com/TolW419.
