What a celebration Juneteenth has turned into over the past decade. This Juneteenth celebration was the biggest yet as a variety of organi-zations – Toledo Museum of Art, the Metroparks, City of Toledo, the YMCA, among others – held events, free events, for the community.
Those events began on Friday with the fourth annual Juneteenth Pa-rade and Ceremony. The parade began at 1 p.pm. at Uptown Green, proceeded down Adams Street toward the river and ended at Prome-nade Park where a Juneteenth Celebration continued with food trucks, resources for the community and activities for kids.
Meanwhile, the Wayman Palmer YMCA held its own celebration with vendors, food trucks and live entertainment at the Inez Nash Park site.
