Doc’s Productions and The Open Arms Group are organizing a free Jazz festival. The event will pay homage to some of the world’s greatest influences in jazz, such as Art Tatum, Jon Hendricks, Claude Black, Clifford Murphy, Leon Cook, Jimmy Cook, Tony Ben, Cass Harris, Joan Russell, and Rusty Monroe. All of these greats were from Toledo and contributed to a culture that makes Toledo a Jazz city.

The day will include music from five bands representing Toledo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, PA. The schedule is as follows:

1:00 pm – Andre Wright Featuring Alexis Lombre

2:15 pm – 6th Edition

3:30 pm- Mike Cady & Friends

4:45 pm- Damen Cook & Friends

6:00 pm – Kenny Blake

“Courageous Community Services” and “Be Instrumental”, will be on hand to bring awareness, assistance, and interactive activities to festival attendees. Local vendors will sell jewelry, clothes, homemade spices, and much more. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for sale on site.

There will be a photo and memorabilia display to remember our local Jazz greats on the grounds, including Clifford Murphy’s bass bow and Leon Cook’s guitar.
