The men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc, Xi Tau Chapter, overcame the delay in their usual scholarship donations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and handed out college funds to two young students on Monday, July 12.
Chapter President Alan Bannister and Ed Dixon, chairman of the Scholarship Committee, presented Mekhi Henderson and Malene Ricks with scholarships in the amount of $2,000.00 each.
Henderson, who just completed his high school career at St. John’s Jesuit, will be entering the University of Toledo this fall where he will major in psychology. He plans on using his education to become a licensed therapist.
Ricks, who is a 2020 graduate of Start High School, will be returning to Eastern University in Saint Davids, Pennsylvania in the fall to continue her pursuit of a double major – bio-chemistry and psychology – with a minor in Spanish. Richardson is a pre-med student planning a career as a cardiologist.
