The Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church held a Fashon Show Fundraiser Saturday, September 12, in anticipation of their Annual Women’s Day celebration. The sold-out event featured 20-plus church members showing off their best looks with mistress of ceremonies Valerie Simmons-Walston, ThD.

“We just wanted to do something different to honor the women of Indiana, because they are so classy and fashionable,” remarked Lisa Gutherie, 2026 Women’s Day chairperson. “But we also wanted to take an opportunity to raise money for our church, because we serve the community at such a large capacity. We just wanted to honor the women of Toledo and especially Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.”

Guests enjoyed a fashion show, fellowship and light refreshments. The event was spearheaded by Women’s Day Fashion Show Chair Beverly Robinson and Co-Chair Sharon Jones.

The Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church celebrated their Annual Women’s Day Sunday, September 20. The theme was “StrongHER Together” with a scripture focus from Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. The speaker was Sister Wanda Bates. The Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church plans to hold the fashion show again on a larger scale in the future.
