The NANBPWC Cotillion Debutante Talent Show

The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc, Toledo Club hosted the Debutante Talent Show at Bowsher High School Monday, April 20. The free event displayed the young ladies’ unique talents including original poetry, dance and musical performances in anticipation of the 58th Debutante Cotilion Ball.

The Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening was Deborah Carlisle, NANBPWC Toledo Talent co-chairman. A welcome was provided by Tyra Smith Williamson, NANBPWC Toledo Club president and a greeting from the North Central District was given by  Denise Black-Poon, NANBPWC North Central District Governor.

Following the invocation by Tommie McGhee, NANBPWC Toledo Club Chaplain and Introduction of the Judges and Tallier by Beverly Tucker, NANBPWC Toledo Talent co-chairman the debutantes took to the stage!

  • Dana Bethany (Central Catholic High School) – Spoken Word
  • ShawnZeya Brown (Central Catholic High School) – Step Performance
  • Kimiko Floyd (St. Ursula Academy) – Original Spoken Word
  • Sabriah Greer (Central Catholic High School) – Praise Dance
  • Brooklynn Harrison (Central Catholic High School) – Spoken Word TEDx
  • Ja’Niya Jackson (Springfield High School)– Praise Dance
  • Diamond Kendrick (St. Ursula Academy) – Spoken Word
  • Dalliss Lothery Hatch (Robert S. Rogers High School)– Original Spoken Poem
  • Brooklyn Marrow (St. Ursula Academy) – Original Spoken Word
  • Kennedy Powell (Central Catholic High School)  – Piano Solo
  • Riayn Roberts (Toledo Early College) – Viola Solo
  • Marleya Smith (Central Catholic High School)  – Original Spoken Word
  • Alyson Williams (Central Catholic High School) – Tap Dance Performance

Closing remarks were given by Tyra Smith Williamson.

The 58th Debutante Cotillion will be presented by the NANBPWC Toledo Club and held May 23 at Parkway Plaza. The evening of elegance, tradition, and celebration will honor the debutantes and recognize the young ladies’ growth, achievements and commitment to excellence. The memorable occasion promises a night of sophistication, community, and timeless charm. This year there are 13 Debutantes and 14 Debs-in-waiting.
