S & G Convenience Stores held their ninth Annual Day of Thanks and Giving on December 16 at The Pinnacle. The store, which is ‘locally owned and locally committed,’ donated over $200,000 to 67 local charities and organizations.

Many of the organizations such CASA, Connecting Kids to Meals, Padua Center and Toys for Tots help children and families throughout the community.

“This is all made possible by people who shop in our stores and want to give something back,” said Neal Frandsen, S & G vice president of Customer Experience. “We do it throughout the year,” he added noting that the company just recently gave out 55 coats to families.

“Every year we solicit donations and these are from funds collected at the stores,” Frandsen said. The event has raised over $700,000 since its inception.

S & G was started by CEO Dan Ridi 25 years ago and currently has 85 locations with 54 in the Toledo area , along with about 1,500 employees.
