The Toledo Chapter of The Charms, a local site of a growing national women’s empowerment and service organization, is closing out the year with new initiatives aimed at community giving and cultural enrichment.

Following their most recent event, “Menopause Uncovered: A candid conversation with BIOPIC women”, Breakfast with Santa was a nostalgic giveback for the organization. The Toledo Chapter of Charms has been formed by a circle of local professionals on a mission to support the community through personal development and humanitarian service. The group has fulfilled that mission with a slate of programs designed to strengthen both sisterhood and community partnerships.

For the Breakfast with Santa event they utilized the facilities of Braden Methodist Church led by Rev. Ernest Ologo. In the community center, the group held crafts, games and story time for a holiday gathering. Clara Petty, the president and national Civic engagement chair, coordinated the event with Toledo members to conclude their seasonal community service activities.

The chapter has made contributions to holiday Angel Trees and the tiny homes Monroe project as another part of their winter service projects. “We want to ensure all our families get a photo with Santa” Petty repeated throughout the event as she and members tended to serve guests food and escort them to meet Santa Clause.

The guests of Toledo Chapter of Charms were filled with pancakes and fellowship with the warm welcome from Braden United. The chapter is updating their social sites with the activities planned and will be continuing to connect for more in the new year.
