Joined by friends, colleagues and supporters, Councilwoman Brittany Jones, PhD, held her first fundraiser of the campaign season on Thursday, April 24, at the Truth Colours Gallery – an event catered by Charcuterie Creations and Luxury Liquors.
Jones, a first time council member, was appointed to her position in February 2024, and is running for election in this year’s May 6 primary and then the November general election.
Jones has a background in both the non-profit and academic fields. She is an experienced evaluation and survey analyst working in higher education and community services.
She has noted that, as a public official, she is focused on these major issues: economic development and promoting growth that benefits all of Toledo’s communities; education equity by ensuring that every child in Toledo has access to a high quality education; affordable housing by increasing housing options, preventing displacement and addressing homelessness; environmental and food justice by preserving natural assets and addressing food apartheid.
