Getting to 1 Coalition Hosts Film Viewing and Discussion

The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is happy to announce that the Getting to 1 Coalition is hosting a viewing of the film “Birthing Justice.”

This film viewing is in place of the Getting to 1 Coalition’s general meeting for Quarter 2 and is in celebration of the two-year anniversary of their relaunch. The film sheds light on the struggle and experiences of Black women within the healthcare system during pregnancy and childbirth.

This event is a great opportunity to learn about advocating for maternal healthcare equity while connecting with others who share this passion. Members of the public along with healthcare professionals are welcome to attend.

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Getting to 1 Coalition is a community-driven effort committed to saving Black/African American babies, eliminating disparity gap, and reducing infant mortality in Lucas County. The coalition works with community partners and helps facilitate collaborations to address preterm births, low birthweight, and infant death in Lucas County, especially among our Black/ African American families.
