Re*Rock, the new Black-owned vintage and street wear fashion store, hosted its first networking mixer Saturday, December 27, at House of Coffee Downtown. The event, A Rise of a New Toledo, welcomed fellow creatives to connect and grow their businesses.
Owner James Lumsden operates the store with his family. This location, which is the third location in the US, was established in Toledo in August 2025. This is the first networking event for the business, with plans to continue the event regularly.
“Our goal was to basically bring together, merge and establish young emerging entrepreneurs with more established entrepreneurs to build meaningful connections so they can contribute to a stronger more vibrant future for the city of Toledo,” he stated.
The event featured networking mixer and a panel comprising of a real estate investor, real estate agent and clothing brand owner. The mixer attracted individuals from different disciplines: marketing, design, photography and more. The MC’s for the event were two of Lumsden’s children: JR Lumsden and Jayla Lumsden.
Re*Rock located in Franklin Park Mall offers a variety of services including consignment, sewing classes, and clothing upcycling. The store offers both the newest street wear as well as vintage and collectible items. They host four local brands in their store among their other featured clothing and want to collaborate with and grow more local brands.
