St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church hosted its annual Women’s Day celebration on Sunday, September 21, under the theme “Hold On, Help Is On The Way.” The event was a testament to the church’s commitment to uplifting and empowering women within the congregation and in the broader community.

“This day is not just about celebration; it’s about recognizing the strength, resilience, and unwavering faith of the women in our church and community,” said Rev. Regina R. Harper, a respected leader and keynote speaker for this event. “The theme ‘Hold On, Help Is On The Way’ serves as a reminder that no matter the challenges we face, we are never alone.”

“In our darkest moments, it’s easy to feel isolated,” Rev. Harper shared during her sermon. “But remember, help is on the way. Through faith, prayer, and community, we find the strength to persevere.”

Music played a central role in the celebration. The women’s choir led the worship, creating a vibrant and uplifting environment. These musical tributes were paired with meaningful recognitions and a candlelight memorial led by Sister Kimberly Cunningham honored the women of St. Paul who had passed away in the past year. The Unsung Hero Award was presented to Marie Liggins in acknowledgment of her dedicated service.

The Women’s Day celebration at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church underscored the congregation’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive and spiritually enriching environment for women. Attendees were not only able to participate in meaningful worship but also to engage in fellowship and community reflection.

The event was made accessible to those unable to attend in person through a live stream on the church’s Facebook page, extending its reach to the wider Toledo community.

“This day is not just about celebration; it’s about recognizing the strength, resilience, and unwavering faith of the women in our church and community,” said Rev. James H. Willis Sr., senior pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church during his closing remarks. “The theme ‘Hold On, Help Is On The Way’ serves as a reminder that no matter the challenges we face, we are never alone.”

“As we conclude today’s celebration, let us remember that help is always on the way,” said Rev. Willis. “Through faith, unity and love, we can overcome any challenge.”
