The Wayman Palmer YMCA hosted a free health fair on Saturday, July 27 and hundreds of visitors came during the four-hour event for dental consultations, wellness checks, vision tests, mental health exams and even free haircuts, among the many services offered by Universal Health Aid.
Universal Health Aid is a non-profit organization that helps to improve the health and lifestyles of the underprivileged through annual health screenings. It is actually a student-run organization, consisting of pre-med students from The Ohio State University, the University of Toledo and other schools.
Saturday’s event at the Y also enabled visitors to undergo sports physicals, to obtain menstrual products, deterra bags and event bags with health products.
The first 100 attendees received complimentary welcome gifts and nearly 200 participants were seen by the doctors during the health fair.
