Lucas County Recorder Michael Ashford and his wife Ruth hosted their annual summer cookout/fundraiser on Saturday, July 13, at their house on Collingwood Avenue. Over 100 friends, colleagues, elected officials and candidates turned out to show support and, in some cases, to share their personal stories.
The annual event, which the Ashfords have been holding for 20 years, took place in the backyard amidst the beautiful landscaping that Ruth has planted and nurtured over the years.
Among the political guests were Lucas County Commissioner Anita Lopez, Toledo City Councilwoman Brittany Jones, State Representative Michele Grim and Lucas County Clerk of Courts Bernie Quilter. All of the above addressed the guests as did Michael Ashford.
Candidate for State Rep Erika White (House District 41) also spoke as did Justin Moor, CEO of the Area Office in Aging, whose agency has a levy on November’s ballot.
