Special to The Truth

Women of Toledo, Welcome TLC and LISC Toledo celebrated Immigrant Heritage Month on Saturday, June 8, 2024, with the third annual Multicultural Twilight Market at the Toledo Farmer’s Market. The event was presented in conjunction with the University of Toledo Center, the Center for International Studies and Programs.

In addition to the dozens of products displayed by small businesses from around the area, visitors and shoppers were also treated to music and performances from around the world, including Kazenodaichi Taiko drum (Japanese percussion) and Molly’s Irish Dance, hosted by DJ Amjad and emcee Erica D. White.

Women of Toledo brought together over 80 vendors and businesses representing BIPOC, women and immigrant-owned businesses in the area. Four businesses that participate in business development opportunities were eligible to receive a mini-grant upon the voting session for People Choice’s Award that took place from 5 to 7 p.m.

The goal of the evening was to increase the visibility and opportunity to connect small businesses with available resources to sustain and grow their businesses while promoting vibrant, diverse Toledo.
