The Toledo Club of (NANBPWC) National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc. held the third annual 60’s, 70’s and 80’s Fundraiser Cabaret on Saturday, February 8 at the UAW Hall at 5411 Jackman Road.
Since February is Black History Month, the music theme highlighted African-American music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s as guest dressed in afro wigs and fringes.
The fundraiser was a great night of fun for everyone in attendance.
In honor of “Heart Month,” donations for chocolate heart-shaped boxes of candy were given out to guest.
Music was provided by DJ Big Trav who kept the dance floor full as he played music of blast from the past. Special guest entertainment was provided by music from the past, such as, James Brown, Whitney Houston and blues singers.
Door prizes were given throughout the night that were donated by the Toledo Club Members donated.
NANBPWC INC Toledo Club President Frances Collins, PhD, thanked all present for their support as she led the special feature of the evening. A contest for the best dressed costumes from each era was a great highlight of the evening. Three guests from each decade were voted on by the audience for first, second and third places.
