Special to The Truth
The Toledo Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction proudly hosted its Pink and Blue Community Day, a heartfelt initiative centered on random acts of kindness and intentional appreciation for first responders who faithfully serve the City of Toledo.
Our day of service on January 19, MLK Jr. Day, began at the Public Safety Building on Secor Road, where members of the Toledo Chapter delivered snacks, essential supplies and hearts of appreciation to the University of Toledo Police Department.
Adding a special touch, our Top Teens of America members prepared personalized thank-you cards for each officer – simple yet powerful expressions of gratitude meant to uplift and encourage those who protect our campus community every day.

Our next stop was Fire Station #4, where firefighters received a large sack filled with approximately 15-20 assorted snacks and supplies. The items were thoughtfully prepared for placement in the station’s lounge, providing nourishment and appreciation during long shifts dedicated to safeguarding our neighborhoods.
The final stop of our Pink and Blue Community Day brought us to the Emergency Room at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. In recognition of the critical role emergency responders play in saving lives, our chapter delivered additional large snack bags to be placed in the dedicated break room for EMS drivers and ER staff. This small gesture served as a reminder that their tireless work does not go unnoticed.
Though we are a small chapter, the Toledo Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction remains deeply committed to making a meaningful impact. Through compassion, service and intentional outreach, our Pink and Blue Community Day demonstrated that even modest acts of kindness can bring encouragement, appreciation and renewed energy to those who serve our community. Together we honored our first responders – one snack, one smile and one heartfelt “thank you” at a time.
