LaVera Scott, Director of the Lucas County Board of Elections, Named President of the Ohio Association of Election Officials

The Ohio Association of Election Officials (OAEO), the bipartisan organization representing Ohio’s 88 county boards of elections and their staff members, last week announced that LaVera Scott, director of the Lucas County Board of Elections, has been named President of the OAEO.

In this leadership role, Scott will guide the OAEO’s efforts to promote fair, accurate, and reliable elections across Ohio, coordinate professional development and education for local election officials, and advance sound election administration policies.

“Serving Ohio’s election officials at this level is an honor and an opportunity to support election professionals statewide,” said Scott. “I look forward to working with county boards and partners to strengthen Ohio’s election processes, uphold democratic principles, and ensure every eligible voter’s voice is heard.”

As Director of the Lucas County Board of Elections, Scott has played a key role in managing election operations, enhancing election security and voter confidence, and fostering professional excellence within her community.
