The Summer Festivals Begin in the Old West End

The Historic Old West End Festival opened the local summer season with the traditional King Wamba Carnival Parade. The 116th year event brought together student musicians, agencies, elected officials, hopeful candidates, small cars, big jeeps, fancy Corvettes and Slingshots with booming music.

The parade ended at the museum’s front steps for the coronation of King Wamba (Dave Kosmyna) and Queen Sancha (Christine Palmer).

The 52nd annual Historic Old West End Festival continued through Sunday with hundreds of vendors, thousands of visitors and plenty of activities to keep everyone busy.
