Everyone Loves a Parade!!

On Saturday, July 20, The African American Parade filled the Dorr Street corridor. Hundreds lined the streets as the parade, which started at the Toledo Urban Federal Credit Union, the organizers of the parade,  at the corner of Detroit Avenue and Dorr Street and continued down Indiana Avenue.

Businesses, city and elected officials, cheer squads, sling shots, tiny cars, sleek corvettes and even a city water truck and more  lined Dorr Street from 10 a.m. to noon preceding the music festival held at the Huntington Center that afternoon. Residents old and young got the chance to experience the Black pride in Toledo.

This was the 19th annual African American Festival Parade. Each year the parade participants and spectators grow. It was a beautiful and picturesque day on Dorr Street Saturday!
