Special to The Truth
This year’s J. Frank Troy Turkey Trot was attended by 100 guests at the Toledo Club in downtown Toledo along with Bill Harris, Area Office on Aging board chairman.
The evening began with a welcome and prayer by our chaplain and Turkey Trot chairperson, Elsie Harbour. Her welcome was followed by an introduction of our guest entertainer Ramona Collins by Dorothy Gray, Entertainment Committee chairperson.
Ramona Collins has been an entertainer for 54 years. She is a singer, songwriter, recording artist, actress, educator, emcee and a former WXTS-FM jazz radio personality. She has been voted Best of Toledo three times, has won the Lake Erie West People’s Choice Awards and has been honored by the local National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs. She is a member of Warren AME Church and the Troy Booster Club.
The Club also had light refreshments and a drawing for door prizes. They honored their veterans with small gifts.
The evening included dancing. This was an After Five dress up event and guests were in their finest.
