On Saturday, November 19, Terrie Cook, founder and owner of the Simply D’Vine Boutique on Sylvania Avenue, teamed with Competition Corvette, Kendall Harvey, Sr, Earl Landry and Leo Arnold, to donate Thanksgiving baskets and ensure that 31 families enjoyed a holiday feast.
Assisted by her husband, Brian Cook, and friends Tige Cage, Joyce Lewis-Johnston, Mary Huddleston and Tiffany Whitlow, Cook handed out baskets containing turkeys, dressing, mac/cheese, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy and cake.
Others contributing to the successful event included Rev. Willie and Lady Perryman, Dave and Brenda Young, Warren and Casaundra Jenkins and Linda Howard, all of whom helped with the storage of the items beforehand.
Cook and Simply D’Vine will have a Christmas basket giveaway on Saturday, December 17 starting at 9:00 a.m.
