Toledo City Councilwoman Cerssandra McPherson held a birthday bash on Sunday, August 24, at the EC Family Event Center on Indiana Avenue. McPherson was joined by her family members, elected officials and community members to celebrate her 66th birthday, to enjoy a live DJ and assorted refreshments and to do a little campaigning on the side.
McPherson is running for re-election to retain her at-large council seat. Her general theme is that she gets things done for Toledo families as she has helped open the new Wayman Palmer YMCA, has invested millions of dollars to fix the city roads, has financially supported funding for youth programs and founded Glass City JazzFest, bringing pride and energy to Toledo.
Her plan for the future is to put money into the neighborhoods that need it the most, to fix up old buildings and to support local shops.
