Offers Winter Crisis Program to Help Lucas County Residents Keep the Heat On"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>*More than 73,000 Ohio households received help last year*<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Toledo, OHIO \u2013 Pathway, Inc. and the Ohio Department of Job and Family<br \/>\nServices (ODJFS) want to help ease the burden of costly energy bills this<br \/>\nwinter and keep Ohio families warm. Beginning Nov. 1, income-eligible<br \/>\nOhioans can receive one-time help with their home heating bill through the<br \/>\nHome Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program (WCP). The program runs<br \/>\nthrough March 31, 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the temperatures drop, we want our neighbors to know that they are<br \/>\nnot alone in facing the challenges of keeping their homes warm,&#8221; said<br \/>\nCynthia Savage, CEO of Pathway, Inc. &#8220;Behind every application is a person<br \/>\nor family who may be facing difficult choices and uncertainty. The Winter<br \/>\nCrisis Program allows us to offer support, ease some of that burden, and<br \/>\nremind our community that help is available when it\u2019s needed most. At<br \/>\nPathway, we believe no family should have to face these challenges alone,<br \/>\nand we encourage anyone concerned about their home heating costs to reach<br \/>\nout to us,\u201d said Ms. Savage.<\/p>\n<p>WCP assists Ohioans who are facing service disconnection, have already been<br \/>\ndisconnected, need to establish new service, or must pay to transfer<br \/>\nservice. It also supports households with 25 percent or less of bulk fuel<br \/>\nin their tank so they can maintain service.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify, a household must have a gross annual income at or below 175<br \/>\npercent of the federal poverty level.
