Several local organizations took the opportunity during the first weekend of August to reach out to the community and celebrate the end of summer and the upcoming new school year.<\/p>\n

United Vision Baptist Church<\/strong><\/p>\n

United Vision Baptist Church held their 13th<\/sup> annual Community Day on Saturday, August 1 at Wilson Park. The congregation gathered to\u00a0 enjoy \u201cA Day of Hope, Health and Unity\u201d and to make sure students were prepared for school.<\/p>\n

Visitors were able to have health screenings, haircuts, sample the wares of various vendors and food trucks and register to vote.<\/p>\n

Students were given free backpacks and could also have a free breakfast gift card to Chic-Fil-A.<\/p>\n

And they could dance to the DJ inspired music, explore the bouncy houses or even get a ride on a horse!<\/p>\n
