The event featured performances, speakers and creative art activities commemorating the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King\u2019s Legacy.<\/p>\n<p>The Voices at Bowling Green State University sang two powerful selections including the Black National Anthem \u201cLift Every Voice and Sing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Keynote speaker was Maurice A. Stinnett, EdD, an experienced leader and expert in the areas of global leadership, strategic planning, organizational transformation, and inclusion &amp; equity across corporate, nonprofit and education sectors. Stinnett, EdD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Stinnet previously was the inaugural VP of Diversity and Inclusion for BSE Global, owner of Barclays Center and the NBA\u2019s Brooklyn Nets. He is noted as the first Black man to be appointed vice president of D &amp; I for an NBA team. He has held previous roles at Cleveland State University, CentroNia, and chairman of the World Leadership Program, a White House initiative under the Obama administration that sought to spark dialogue between Middle East and United States\u2019 graduate students.<\/p>\n<p>A spoken word piece was performed by LaToya Williams, EdD, Toledo native and founder of \u201cPieces of Me\u201d Publication Services, and Star Cosmetics.<\/p>\n<p>The event was open and free to all.
