Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio sponsored a Valentine\u2019s Day fundraiser to support the agency\u2019s youth. \u201cWine and Dine\u201d was held at Claude\u2019s Prime Seafood in Perrysburg\u2019s Levis Commons and was attended by community-minded individuals including Perrysburg Mayor Tom Mackin and Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn as well as State Representative Elgin Rogers, Dr. Brian Dolsey and his wife, Dee Dee Kent Dolsey, and Marie Bush, PhD, former board chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters.<\/p>\n

Marvin Whitfield, PhD, president and CEO of Big Brother Big Sisters, said one-on-one mentoring relationships and leadership programs inspire and empower the next generation. So many of our youth live at risk and need mentoring and leadership development opportunities that brighten the future of youth in Toledo and Lucas County.<\/p>\n

Marie Bush noted that over 90 percent of the youth in Big Brothers Big Sisters are African Americans.
