Known for her versatility on the court,<br \/>\nWhite-Lawrence played all five positions, with a particular affinity for<br \/>\nshooting guard. She earned numerous accolades during her college career,<br \/>\nincluding Female Athlete of the Year, Women\u2019s Basketball MVP and<br \/>\nHonorable Mention All-American. In addition to becoming a mother during her<br \/>\ncollege years, she continued to excel and eventually earned a degree in<br \/>\nSociology. Post-graduation, White-Lawrence transitioned into coaching,<br \/>\nlater becoming a community health advocate, author and mentor.<\/p>\n<p>Aja Lewis, another honoree, made her mark at Central State from 1996-2000.<br \/>\nAveraging a double-double throughout her career, Lewis dominated the paint<br \/>\nwith her exceptional rebounding and shot-blocking abilities. By the time<br \/>\nshe graduated in 2001, she had accumulated over 1,000 points and an<br \/>\nastounding 372 blocks, earning her the nickname \u201cQueen of Blocks.\u201d Her<br \/>\naccomplishments were widely recognized, including selections to multiple<br \/>\nAll-Region and All-Conference teams. Lewis also served as a student<br \/>\nassistant coach during her final season, showcasing her leadership both on<br \/>\nand off the court.<\/p>\n<p>The third inductee, Jerry Parker, brought an enduring legacy to Central<br \/>\nState University football. A standout on the gridiron, Parker\u2019s<br \/>\ncontributions as a defensive end during the 1980s were critical to the<br \/>\nsuccess of the Marauder football team. Known for his tenacity and<br \/>\nleadership on defense, Parker was instrumental in helping Central State<br \/>\nclaim multiple conference championships. His exceptional play earned him<br \/>\nrecognition on the All-American Team, and his influence continued beyond<br \/>\nhis playing career, where he became a mentor to young athletes, promoting<br \/>\ndiscipline and excellence. Parker&#8217;s induction into the Hall of Fame cements<br \/>\nhis status as one of Central State&#8217;s all-time football greats.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Bridgette Edwards joins this esteemed group as a trailblazer in<br \/>\ntrack and field. Edwards, originally from Jamaica, earned a scholarship to<br \/>\nCentral State and quickly became a dominant force in track and field. A<br \/>\nfour-time NAIA All-American, she specialized in the hurdles and led the<br \/>\nLady Marauders to a national championship. Her achievements include winning<br \/>\nthe 100-meter hurdles in the NAIA Nationals and earning the title of NAIA<br \/>\nFemale Track Athlete of the Year. Edwards\u2019 success extended beyond the<br \/>\ntrack as she earned her degree in Business Administration and later<br \/>\nmentored young athletes. Her impact on Central State\u2019s track and field<br \/>\nprogram continues to inspire future generations of runners.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 Hall of Fame induction ceremony was a powerful celebration of<br \/>\nathletic excellence, reminding the Central State University community of<br \/>\nthe extraordinary contributions made by its athletes.
