A new bar and restaurant opened last Monday in downtown Toledo in a grand old building at 413 Madison Street. The Toast and Tap Restaurant & Lounge staff and city officials held a ribbon cutting and introduced guests to imaginative cocktails and menu dotted with a spectacular array of tasty food choices.<\/p>\n

Kanardo Whittington and Aundray Gray are the owners of the new downtown establishment and the chef is Jacqueline Smith, recently of 1 Jacques Catered Creations in Columbus, OH.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went all the way to Columbus to get her here,\u201d said Gray of the chef who has assembled a menu with standout items such as salmon plank & veggies, shrimp po\u2019boy sandwich and lamb chops on a everyday basis and loaded seafood and grits, for example, during Saturday brunches.<\/p>\n

Live entertainment is also part of the fare as jazz and blues groups will hold forth on weekend nights.<\/p>\n

Toast and Tap will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight.<\/p>\n
