Over 100 friends, colleagues, elected officials and candidates turned out to show support and, in some cases, to share their personal stories.<\/p>\n<p>The annual event, which the Ashfords have been holding for 20 years, took place in the backyard amidst the beautiful landscaping that Ruth has planted and nurtured over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Among the political guests were Lucas County Commissioner Anita Lopez, Toledo City Councilwoman Brittany Jones, State Representative Michele Grim and Lucas County Clerk of Courts Bernie Quilter.
