Women make up 51 percent of our population, yet there are only a handful of states
\nwhose legislatures reflect that with fair representation: Nevada and
\nArizona state Senates are more than 50 percent women, as are Nevada, Colorado
\nand New Mexico state House delegations. Other states still have a long
\nway to go\u2014some, egregiously far.<\/p>\n

Vote Run Lead Action , \u200b\u200bthe 501(c4) arm of the country\u2019s largest
\nnonprofit training resource for women to run for political office and win,
\nbelieves it is well past time to see women as the majority of our elected
\nofficials. The organization\u2019s goal is nothing short of women holding 51 percent
\nof seats in state legislatures nationwide\u2014and the organization knows the
\npath to that reality starts with women learning how to run for office and
\nmanage successful campaigns. Vote Run Lead Action\u2019s RUN\/51 Summit,
\nNovember 17\u201319 in Detroit, Michigan\u2014the first and only national
\ntraining event fully dedicated to sending women to our nation\u2019s
\nstatehouses\u2014is where this vital training will happen, one year out from
\nElection Day 2024. The Summit will draw hundreds of women who are
\ninterested in running for state House or Senate seats, or who have already
\ndeclared their candidacy, and those who want to manage these candidates\u2019
\ncampaigns. The RUN\/51 Summit will give participants the tools, resources
\nand know-how to pursue public office\u2014and win! Participant registration is
\nopen now through October 30 at voterunleadaction.org\/run51-summit.<\/p>\n

\u201cA core belief that drives our approach is that you are already enough to
\ndo this important work of running and winning,\u201d said Erin Vilardi, CEO
\nand founder of Vote Run Lead Action. \u201cWe only ask women to bring their
\nskills, passion and drive, and we bring the tools, experience, confidence
\nand community to help them learn everything they need to know about running
\nfor office. What\u2019s good, what\u2019s hard, how to handle the money, what it
\nmeans to manage a campaign, the realities of campaigning\u2014all of these
\ntopics are covered. We have incredible speakers who have either run for
\noffice themselves or worked directly on successful campaigns. It\u2019s going
\nto be an exciting event and one that we hope inspires even more women to
\nrun for office.\u201d<\/p>\n

The organization has proudly helped 55,000 women and gender-expansive
\npeople run for office, with a successful track record of nearly 70 percent of
\nalumni who made the 2022 ballot winning their races. However, more women
\nare needed in our statehouses today than ever before. Pivotal legislation
\nthat governs women\u2019s bodies, education, immigration and so much more is
\nbeing battled out in our statehouses. Electing women can really make a
\ndifference against these attacks on our democracy.<\/p>\n

Vote Run Lead Action seeks to transform the face of power in this country
\nin 2024, and it starts in Detroit with the RUN\/51 Summit.<\/p>\n

Two tracks will be offered, for candidates and campaign managers. Keynote
\nspeakers (to be announced soon) will share stories of running for office
