The Juneteenth parade, a spirited procession through the heart of Toledo, will showcase a rich tapestry of cultural expressions, vibrant costumes, and uplifting music. Starting at 10:00 a.m. along Summit St. and Jackson St., the parade will wind its way through downtown, featuring local community groups, organizations, and passionate individuals, all coming together to honor the legacy of Juneteenth.<\/p>\n
Following the parade, a momentous dance ceremony will take place at One Government Center, located at 640 Jackson St. Toledo, OH 43604, at 12:30 p.m. The dance ceremony will be a soul-stirring display of traditional and contemporary dance forms, paying homage to the resilience and triumph of the African American community. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness captivating performances by dancers and local artists, as well as participate in interactive sessions celebrating the cultural heritage of Juneteenth.<\/p>\n
The City of Toledo invites all residents, families, and friends to join in these Juneteenth celebrations. This is a moment to reflect on the progress we have made, remember the struggles endured, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a diverse and inclusive community.<\/p>\n
