Members of the Toledo Chapter of The Links, Inc. hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, January 9 to open the Links L.O.V.E. Hygiene Cabinet and Clothing Closer at Elle P. Stewart Academy for Girls.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event is part of the Toledo (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated
\n12-month celebration highlighting their charter members and the 50-year
\nlegacy of leadership, service and friendship,\u201d said Links President Erin Baker.<\/p>\n

The hygiene closet was installed last year giving Stewart students access to personal items donated by club members. The clothing closet, just opened this week, contains dozens of school uniforms in sizes for kindergarten to sixth grade students.<\/p>\n

According to Baker, the ribbon cutting was in recognition of charter member Marietta Leverette\u2019s \u201ccommitment and service\u201d and her efforts in the St. Michael\u2019s in the Hill\u2019s Echo Shop that closed in 2003 after years of providing monetary donations to various service agencies, to churches for improvements and to agencies for education grants.<\/p>\n
