The new fixed-route operators have taken more than 300 hours of training in preparation for their new careers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s empowering people to make connections,\u201d said Laura Koprowski, TARTA CEO, as she addressed the graduates and reminded them of why their new tasks were so beneficial for the community they serve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s community, it\u2019s connecting, it\u2019s making things better,\u201d she reminded them.<\/p>\n<p>The new operators receive a number of messages and pieces of advice from TARTA\u2019s leaders during the ceremony.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12669\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12669\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12669\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.thetruthtoledo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Charlorett-Siryani-addresses-her-fellow-graduates.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12669\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Charlorett Siryani addresses her fellow graduates<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Oscar Correa, director of Transportation, reminded them of the number one, two and three priorities they must be concerned about in their new positions \u2013 safety, safety and safety.<\/p>\n<p>Trainer Steve Wise advised them to incorporate empathy, adaptability and professionalism into their daily routines.<\/p>\n<p>Carly Allen of ATU suggested that \u201ccustomer Service\u2019 was the most important part of the job and urged them to always keep the office informed of incidents and out-of-the-ordinary events. She also reminded them that the future with TARTA was not just a job but a career \u2013 \u201ca solid middle class career\u201d with benefits such as pensions, health care and vacations.<\/p>\n<p>The graduates were also reminded that they were arriving at the transit service at a most opportune time. Board member Rev. Willie Perryman assured them that \u201cTARTA is the most innovative, fastest growing transit authority in the state of Ohio\u201d while adding that \u201cin the next few years, TARTA is going to become one of the most modeled transit authorities in the United States \u2026 you are joining a team that is going places.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The graduates selected one of their own to join the group of graduation speakers.
