Before that, she served for two years from 2018 to<br \/>\n2020 as the Community Health Educator for Planned Parenthood of Greater<br \/>\nToledo. She was a Community Organizer for United Citizen Power from<br \/>\n2016-2018. Clausing has been<br \/>\nwith The University of Toledo in various roles for over 15 years. In her<br \/>\ncurrent role, she serves as the primary contact to the university for<br \/>\nlocal and federal government officials and advocates university<br \/>\npriorities to government officials and government entities on key<br \/>\nlegislative issues related to higher education, health policy, and<br \/>\nresearch.<\/p>\n<p>In partnership with the Office of Research, Clausing is<br \/>\nresponsible for advancing the university&#8217;s federal research portfolio<br \/>\nand aligning university research strength to federal funding<br \/>\nopportunities. In previous roles, Clausing managed major university-wide<br \/>\nprojects such as the successful submissions of The University of<br \/>\nToledo\u2019s application for the Association of Public and Land Grant<br \/>\nUniversities (APLU) Commission on Innovation, Competitiveness and<br \/>\nEconomic Prosperity (CICEP) Designation and the Carnegie Foundation\u2019s<br \/>\nCommunity Engagement Classification. Clausing earned a bachelor of arts<br \/>\nfrom Bowling Green State University and her master of business<br \/>\nadministration from The University of Toledo.<\/p>\n<p>The Lucas County CASA Program, one of the oldest and most respected of<br \/>\nthe 939 CASA programs nationwide, is a non-profit, tax-exempt<br \/>\norganization operating in Lucas County since 1980. CASA\u2019s mission is to<br \/>\nserve the best interests of abused and neglected children in the<br \/>\njuvenile court system. CASA provides quality volunteer advocacy for<br \/>\nchildren to ensure each child has a safe, permanent, nurturing home.<br \/>\nCASA volunteers are ordinary citizens who are trained to investigate and<br \/>\nmonitor child abuse cases and be the voice for the child in the court<br \/>\nand child welfare systems.
