Autumn Gineen’s Atelier<\/p>\n

\u201cAtelier.\u201d An artist\u2019s or designer\u2019s workshop or studio.<\/p>\n

The passion for fashion isn\u2019t all that Autumn Gineen has when it comes to her custom work. Within the lining of her fabric lies the story of the struggle women face \u2013 the pressure of society to look a certain way, the images in media, shunning the curvier physique or taunting the less shapely. This is a struggle Gineen recognizes and is channeling through her passion for clothing design for the greater good.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always wanted to be a fashion designer but didn\u2019t want to go to school for it,\u201d says Autumn Gineen, who has located her clothing and jewelry shop \u2013 her atelier \u2013 in the UpTown area of Toledo. So she taught herself.<\/p>\n

The Detroit native, who moved to the Glass City about eight years ago, starting sewing when she was nine years old and has been in the clothing business for 12 years, providing her designer fashions for Toledo residents since she made the move south. A few years ago, this multidimensional artist, expanded her vision and began designing jewelry as well \u2013 a hobby that turned into \u201can everyday thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2017, Autumn moved her shop to 7 East Bancroft Street, in The Truth Art Gallery, where five days a week she creates clothing and jewelry \u2013 pants, shirts, re-mix skirts, wedding dresses, prom dresses, men\u2019s ties, along with necklaces and bracelets \u2013 a wide variety of items and styles. She custom designs her fashions for her clientele, in fact.<\/p>\n

In addition to her own creations, Autumn also offers sewing lessons for those who might be inspired to create for themselves.<\/p>\n
